A Life That Is Pleasing To God?

"But mark this: there will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God - having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them" (2 Timothy 3:1-5) This passage was written thousand years ago and we know that a thousand years is just a day to God (2 Peter 3:8) These descriptions are now happening in our own time and it means only that we're now in the last days. The second coming of the Lord is like a thief in the night. No one knows the exact date, day, hour, minute and second of his coming even the angels nor the Son of man who refers to Jesus when he was here on earth and lived as a true man like us (Matthew 24:36) We can see some signs that are also written in the book of Matthew 24:1-35 that says of the following: for many will come in my name, claiming , I am the Christ, and will deceive many. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars. Nation will rise against nation, kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All of these are the beginning of birth pains. There will be persecutions and killings, many will become cold in their faith and many will turn away from it, and betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of increase of wickedness, the love of most believers will grow cold, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and the end will come...". Our God is so good to us and he gave us these clues or signs through Jesus Christ on how we'll know what to do in preparation for his second coming. That's why the preaching of the gospel abounds and flourishes through the aid of high technology. We can now preach and share the good news of salvation fast through television, you tube, printed materials, radio, internet, and other social media. The world is now within our reach. The growth of evangelism is so fast and many believers both poor and rich are contributing to pay the cost of this endeavor for the kingdom but we can observe also the fast growth of wickedness. Satan, his evil angels and followers are doing all things to deceive people and even the believers away from God. They never rest and always on the go to kill, to steal and to destroy the people in all parts of the world. Satan wants that all people will perish in hell - his kingdom and the eternal place for all evils and wicked people. But God sent Jesus to die on the cross to save us all from the power and punishment of sin (Matthew 1:21;23), Jesus came to give us life and to have this more abundantly (John 10:10). We as Christians should hold on to the teachings of Jesus, to live a holy life, to love our neighbor, loved ones, friends and contacts. We should to do it daily and must obey the teaching in Matthew 5:16 that says, "Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in Heaven". Be faithful in all things that we do wherever God has placed us, even in our home, school, work place, hospital, jail, mall, restaurant, buses, and other places. "And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him" (Colossians 3:16) To love God is to live in holiness for without it no one can see God face to face (I Peter 1:16) Let us be reminded always that all of us who accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior are all dead to sin. Sin is no longer our master and we should not be a slave of sin. Satan is the father of the wicked and those who are sons of the devil has no eternal life and will be separated from the presence of God eternally - which is hell (I John 3:1-10) "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!"(II Corinthian 5:17). God is so pleased to all believers who are living in holiness, love and faith in him. Our goal is to become like Jesus in word and in deed. "If you hold to my teaching you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth and the truth will set you free" (John 8:31-32)."Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God - this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will" (Romans 12:1-2).
